Come hOMe to Nature... Feed your Soul by caring for Self with Soil

hOMnaturale: yoga & natural family health

My image of a naturally healthy family is a scene set around a kitchen table, with bright eyed faces smiling and taking breaks between breaking bread and chewing to converse and share thoughts on what's on everyone's plates: garden fresh vegetables and personal or collective events.

A cacophony of passing condiments and comments on how delicious Mamma's meat and potatoes are, or how sweet the garden carrots turned out; how fun it was to bike to school, or how challenging it was to present an oral report or be confronted by an angry friend at school, are all part of this vision of a healthy family.

Being able to create the space, a seat for our soul, to release emotions in a safe, nourishing place... one's hOMe, is vital to maintaining health. At the table we rest, digest and grow when we sit to hold space for the sacred ingestion of all that life offers us.

Processing our life experiences and our food, happens each time we take pause to sit and chew. We can and should become consciously aware of this life affirming opportunity to grow 2-3 times each day, with the breaking of our fast, the mid day lunch we so often truly need, and our evening's supplemental meal called supper which if nutrient dense, but light, should help us create the harmony we so often need at the end of our days.

And with authentic expression to self or others, in prayer, word or action, we can assimilate what we take in, appreciating all that we take in to taste and utilize or eliminate and compost to help make and grow more food. Feeding one's body, mind and soul with nutrient-dense love on a daily basis is key to for remembrance and renewal, especially if the space for our food and body's roots is able to transform and enrich us.

The main course of your meals, whether sitting with a table full of family, or just you and a sink full of pots and pans, should always be LOVE.
